About Me I became a Counsellor out of a strong desire to help people.  I have been involved in the helping professions for some time, having been a Primary School Teacher for seventeen years.  I have now turned to helping people on a one to one basis. My ethos is that of the Person-Centred Counsellor.  This is a form of counselling developed by Carl Rogers. As a person-centred counsellor, I will: As a member of the BACP, I am bound by its ethical framework for good practice in counselling and psychotherapy and subject to the professional conduct.    I have a degree in Philosophy and find this is an area that has much to offer clients who come to me for counselling. I also have a certificate in Couples and Relationship Counselling. My hobbies include writing poetry, playing the piano and saxophone, photography, football, swimming, walking, board gaming and golf. * Provide warmth, empathy and respect. * Value your humanity and individuality. * Endeavour not to or judge or interpret.  I will simply listen to you and engage with your story. * Share your experience so that we can work together to engage your potential for change. * Believe in your potential to move forward. * Believe that the relationship between counsellor and client is the most important thing in the      healing process.
